Hi,

I recently got a new laptop with a 675 MX that has 4GB of Vram ( yes i know its overkill) i was trying to use more RAM to test it out to see how much i can use my brother has the 680M with 2 GB and i wanted to see if i can make something use more then 2 GB with only HD resolutions but i just couldn't i tried with lots of game and the Max was 1.8GB with AA on and Just maxing everything posible.

So i was thinking if there is anybody else that maybe has 3 or 4 GB Vram that have used more then 2 ? i was just interested to know :) and to hear what you guys think about a laptop with 4GB Vram. would Probably be good for high res though.( has HDMI DVI and DP outputs all Full Size was so glad to se full size ^^).

Read my thead on why you can't use all 4GB - Memory bus size and how it effects your vram usage ^_^

How much vram do you actually need? | APUs and the future of processing | Projects: SO - here

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

after reading you post i went to look at my states. and yes i agree that adding more memory to GPU that does not have the horse power to use it wouldn't not help but like mine that is designed with 4GB and has big bus and fast memory i would think that it would help maybe running multi display or maybe new games that are going to come out in the later with better Textures. i don't know just thought i hear what people have to say. But yeah it not like i needed to pay more for it so i really don't mind it cant make it worse :P having more( btw the GPU core is not showing the correct clock its on 785 )

Hate to burst your bubble but that memory bus isn't big xD you should be looking at about 128bits per GB.
