Help Rooting Verizon S4

So my buddy wants me to root his galaxy s4 for him because I have a pc. (im running 4.3 btw) Im just having a hard time doing it so can someone give me instructions on how I do it? I just get errors and stuff but i think he messed it up when he tried doing it
