Display Freezes, fans go wild

Today I was playing Rocket League, and suddenly my screen froze. A few seconds later, my fans went crazy. It sounded like an airplane. I ended up having to force shut down (hold power button). Ctrl + Alt + Del wasn't working.

Answer seems pretty obvious, right? Overheating.

But according to NZXT CAM, my CPU has yet to go over 55C and my GPU 45C, so this can't be the problem. I DO have an overclock on my CPU (see sig), but I'm 99% sure it's completely stable.

Any ideas?

Which fans? If it's gpu fans it's probably drivers. Also would find it highly unlikely that under load the GPU is only at 45.

It's a 750 Ti. Even with Furmark, it rarely goes above 50.

EDIT: My CPU does seem to be going higher that 55C, at ~65C according to HWMonitor. Even so, it's relatively cool. 20 degrees higher and I'd still be okay.

I wouldn't worry too much about a single crash if your temps look okay.

Little point trying to fix something that may just have been a fluke and may not happen again.

Happened again. I'm reinstalling my drivers. Hopefully that'll fix this.
