Custom Water Cooled Loop Help!

Hello,

For my upcoming project I want to water cool my whole computer, I have sussed out how to setup the tubing, res, rad etc but I dont have a clue on what to do nor what to fill it and use. I want to fill it with a changeable liquid where I could add a dye to it to change its color or make it go darker or lighter. Can someone please tell me how I fill my loop with this and get it prep? And also tell me what products that recommend to use for this.

Thanks.

Distilled water just add dye, a biocide, and a corrosion inhibitor.

For colored fluids your best bet would be to look into something from mayhems like the pastel or X-1 fluids, you can use the dyes to darken or create your own colors but the thing with dyes is once you go darker you cannot lighten it back unless you add more base fluid to dilute the color.

As for prep you want to flush all the rads out and make sure there is nothing left in them before assembly of the loop with a final rinse with distilled water.

Do you know of a link I can have for the products you mentioned?

There are a lot of options in terms of colors and dyes, if your just wanting to start with clear fluid or white pastel you can go from there and purchase individual dyes for making your own colors. Just note that sometimes it's not directly intuitive to make certain colors and is a mix of at least a few dyes.

Alright, I want to buy white pastel then add dyes. What are the links for the white pastel and dyes? Also, what are the steps for adding this?

Thanks.

Jay has a good video on that and the mixing of dyes, you would just need white pastel and the dyes to get the colors you desire, they also have premixed stuff which you can add more color to darken or change to your needs:

So I would buy one of those bottles and pour it into the loop after im done rinsing it, then add my dye of choice then the loops usable?

Well I would mix the fluid outside of the case inside of a clean bottle and dye/mix as needed to get the desired color before putting it in, wouldn't want to mess up the color and have it all in the loop.

In general though once you have the components all cleaned and assemble you can add the custom mixed fluid and do a leak test. While doing that make sure to use a desperate PSU to only power the pump, after a few hours without any leaks you should be good to power everything up to go.

So the white pastel doesnt need anything added to it when being put inside a bottle ready for dyes to be mixed in?

Yep it has all the biocides and additives, that one is a concentrate however so you do need to add 750mL of distilled water to the 250mL of pastel to make 1L of fluid, from there you can dye it any color you like.
