Hi guys!

Pretty soon I will be starting up my very first Gaming Build. I have been selecting parts and planning for around 3 months now and I want to know what you guys think.

This will be a themed build but I will not go as far to "mod" it in any way. The color scheme is Black & Blue and I also saw it fit to make that the name as well (open for name suggestions). It will be water cooled and lit up on the inside so I think it will look very nice.

Here are the list of components:

Hardware:

Case: NZXT Phantom 820 Black (with the switch 810 side panel)

Motherboard: Asus Z87 Sabertooth

Ram: 16 gb Dominator Platinum 1866mhz/2400mhz (undecided)

CPU: Intel i7 4770K

GPU: Asus GTX 780 DC2OC

SSD: Intel 520 Series 120gb (is a samsung one better? must be a sand force drive)

Water Cooling:

CPU Block: EK Supremancy Full Nickel Block

GPU Block: EK FC780 GTX DCII

And other accessories like fan cables and such

Peripherals:

Monitor(s): Asus VG24QE/VG27HE (undecided)(maybe more than one of these monitors)

Keyboard: Logitech G710+

HeadSet: Sennheiser PC 363D

This Setup will Cost at Least $4000 Dollars !! WOW (But I wont settle for less ;p)

I dont like MSI and Asus is more reliable in my opinion. Plus the saber tooth is a black board so I cant go wrong

I think you should push a bit harder for the blue accents.

MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte are the big 3 and are all very reliable.

No aftermarket fans?

I'd get blue ripjaws instead of dominator platinums--they cost so much and look so boring when you fill up all the ram slots. The tops are too thick and just level off, making a solid, boring block.

Got a "Black/blue" build, you seem to have a lot of silver. Get a black ssd--there are many good choices. Pick a cheaper one.

Caviar blacks are not worth the money. Seagate barracudas are only a bit slower and much cheaper.

Are you sure you need an optical drive?

I'd replace the case fans with Prolimatech pros and CM sickleflows. You could do what i did what my Phantom and ghetto mount a 140mm where the optical drive bays are. I basically pressure fitted it with small amounts of duct tape covering the bay spacers. You don't see them in the end but it allows more intake from the front and it looks pretty cool.

Are you shopping in the US?

im using NB PL-2/PL-PS what are you talking about? I know that the are all good brands but I trust asus more because Linus and everyone else does and they make awesome products. Dominator platinum are pretty much the most premium ram out there plus they look amazing. And I also will have strong silver colors in my build hence the fittings, ram, and full nickel cpu block. Ripjaws are somewhat cheap and old."they cost so much and look so boring when you fill up all the ram slots. The tops are too thick and just level off, making a solid, boring block." the Dominators to me look amazing and ripjaws have a very small heat sink so you would still see the pcb which can be ugly. I would get Blue Vengeance Pro ram but I like the Dominators but thanks for the suggestion. Oh and the fans I want are all black so I really don't care.

Ahh, sorry I overlooked that you had the fans.

It seems you have good reasoning behind the parts. It's just that you didn't mention silver in the beginning--just wanna make sure you get what you want.
