Malware auto installing stuff , lots of it

That usually means either 1 of 2 things.

1. You're downloading free software bundled with adware, and you're failing to select the appropriate boxes OR

2. You're downloading dodgy programs that bundle adware without giving you the option of not installing them.

I recommend Hitman Pro to scan your system, uses definitions from all AV's.

Also for active protection ESET Smart Security. I'm a reseller, I'd be happy to help you out.

I'm looking for software to help me prevent this from happening again.

Also I'm usually EXTRA carefully with the stuff I install and this time it seems it was out of my hands . Because of this it's the first time this has happened, therefore I would appreciate any help on what to do besides runing my antivirus

Thank you guys

Alright, Malwarebyte is my recommendation, it is paid, but it works great, and only installs something with telling you first.

I've also heard Bitdefender is great.

Thank a lot :D, happen to know any free ones? can't spare the money for now and I would like to have something to work with in the meantime

Ive had auto installing malware before. The idea is it will install like 5 more when you uninstall any one. I figured it out by looking through my task manager, finding a process with a strange name and no description, right click it and open file location, delete the whole folder. Reboot into safe mode, uninstall each malware 1 and a time and check for any dodgy processes.

Safe mode was not nessescary but I was rebooting anyway. Other than that I keep everything on a seperate 2tb HDD and windows on a tiny ssd that I keep many image backups of on the larger drive.

As  @icey suggested install MalwareBites AM. Plus I suggest install even temporally kaspersky, avira, or any other internet security suit which have anti rootkit scannings.. Even MalwareBites is great product in this situation I would try scan pc with multiple security softwares... :)

Getting old is wonderful, when you consider the alternative.
