portable Best external storage solutions?

I'm going to buy an ultrabook for school next year, and most of them have very little on board storage. Any recommendations for expanding this and keeping decent read write speeds? 

Note: the laptop is the Razer blade stealth

If it has a SD card reader than get a big SD card, or a external HDD/SSD

I'd simply upgrade the storage inside the ultrabook if I could afford to do so.

or you can upgrade the internal storage if possible

Im guessing none of these were answers that you were looking for right? Try a NAS, you should be able to set one up pretty cheaply.

Blade Stealth has an M.2 slot

Are you getting the QHD or UHD variant?

Either upgrade the M.2 or get OCZ Trion 960GB SSD with IcyBox SATA to USB 3.0 adapter

you can fit a 1TB Samsung 850 Evo M.2 in there easily
