Is this a good workstation/gaming rig?

I'm wondering if this is a good build for being both a workstation for video editing and some gaming on the side.
what do you guys think?
I'd like feedback and suggestions if possible...

This is the build

Yeah agreed, take the Skylake road, its more future proof. Also, I'd take a R9 390X cause it performs better than the Nvidia in DX12 scenarios. But that's a totally personal choice.

Should be going X99 for that budget if you need to do productivity work.

A 120mm cooler isn't generally going to be much better than something like the Hyper 212, you'd have to go 240/280mm

What's your display setup? And you'd probably want a Fury over a 980 as it's going to have more performance overall and gain performance from DX12.

and don't buy a CX PSU man

If you look at linus's video on regular vs skylake there isn't a big diffrence

thank you for the feedback, now this build is just a planning stage unfortunately so its not set in stone so to speak, but i do appreciate it though.
As for the display setup, I'm currently searching for a dual/triple monitor setup but that is also yet to be determined.

Well aside from 3 1080p IPS displays, your options around $250 are 1440p IPS displays or 1080p 144hz TN free-sync displays

Really though I'd just save up and get a large 4k display

ASUS MG28UQ 28?
*note - those are just some monitors I've heard of*
