Hey Guys,

This is my first post on LTT, so if I break any rules, please let me know.

I currently have a h100i and I want to move into a open loop system for my build, as well to include my GPU in to loop. I was looking at some of the EK kits as it is my first custom look system. My build is as follows:

i7-6700k OC to 4.4 currently with H100i

32 GB Corsair Vengence LPX DDR4 Ram @ 3000mhz

Gigabyte Gaming g7 motherboard

Gigabyte Gaming G1 980ti

Corsair 760t

Corsair RM850 PSU

I was originally looking at the P360 to cool both the CPU and GPU but people are saying to use 120mm for each cooled component, and another 120 for each overclocked component. That would put me at 480. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-kit-p360

Then I thought about Getting the PM 240 https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-kit-p240 or PM 280 https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-kit-p280  and just adding another 240 or 280 to the front and include it in the loop.

So my questions are these.

1. Will the 360 be enough to cool the OC on my CPU and the slight OC on my GPU?

2. If I need to do the dual radiator setup, does it make a HUGE difference between the 240 and 280? I am gathering not so much, but just want to make sure.

Thanks for the time.

Welcome to the Forums!

As mentioned a 360mm rad is good for a CPU and GPU loop, longer rads do tend to do better than shorter thicker ones but for a comparison between a 240mm and 280mm rad the surface area of the dual 140mm rad is a fair bit better as it give about 27% more surface area.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

With my current case set up, if I were to get another 980ti, would I need another 240? or just add a 120/140 to the loop?

Thanks!

Just add 120 or 140 or 240mm if you would overclock

It wouldn't be a bad option in that case to add an extra 120mm or 240mm rad as it would be able to keep everything cool silently.

Hi,

Like the others said, the 360 will be fine for your CPU/GPU loop. ;)

And if you decide to add a second GPU, my recommandation would be the 240 over a 120/140.  120 or 140 rads tends to add more restriction in the loop compared to the amount of cooling performance they gives.

No its not true. Jaytwocents got 970 with CPU on a 240mm rad and it had very good temps, so you should be good enough with that 360mm rad

Jay also never gives any FLUID temp readings which are important. Your components may be running cooler than air, but if your fluid temps aren't in check, you can damage parts of your loop over time, especially the pump.
