1 speaker set, 2 PCs

Go to solution Solved by KaminKevCrew,

A switch box isn't going to degrade your audio. Also, you'd be better off with an RCA switcher. They're pretty easy to find, and not terribly expensive. The 3.5mm to RCA cables are pretty common and really cheap.

Hi guys, now that I have a new set of bangin' speakers for my main system, I decided I want to plug my secondary system into it also. I know a 1 male to 2 female splitter won't work, and even if it did the feedback from the other PC would suck. I decided a switch box would work. Then I could just reach over and switch to the other PC when I want to. But I dunno what to look for? I need it to support at least 2 3.5mm input and 1 3.5 output and I need it to not degrade my audio much if any at all (preferably none at all).

Any ideas?

All ordered, 2 RCA inputs, 1 RCA output switch box and 3 RCA to 3.5 female converters from Monoprice. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Glad I could help! We have a super cheap one from Radioshack (from when they were good, so it's super old) that works a treat for me when I want two inputs or two outputs (it's totally passive, so I can swap it around to do either.)
