CX550M

I was looking to buy the CX550M and I couldn't find how many amps the 12v rail had. Does anyone know?

Note that the CX series has a low heat tolerance. I do not recommend it.

That's the older version. The new CX550M is updated to a higher 40C rating, 5 year warranty, and DC-DC for the generation of the minor rails (vastly improve voltage stability).

It's a good PSU. Around 45 amps on the 12V rail as they advertise it as a 550W PSU (550/12=45.8)

Hehe, we need to spread the word on the new cx's.  Corsair would've done themselves a favor by renaming them.

They did rename them. They have 450/550/etc rather than 430/500/600 etc. 750 and 850W both are new as well though those remained with the same number and just a different colored logo.

Understood, I'm just saying from a marketing standpoint they could change the cx title to disassociate with the stigma of the older unit.  Some people will think the cx430 and 450 are the same.

I had a conversation with Corsair Joseph about this, basically saying that newer, better revisions should use a different numbering scheme. Looks like they did that, probably not just based on my requests but I'd like to think they did.
