push up would be wiser, since conventional laptop pulls ait in from the bottom and push it out the side

pulling air away from the bottom would just be fighting against it `-` and probably raise the temps

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Depends on your notebook model.
Most notebooks have an air intake at the bottom of the device, so pushing air towards that would probably make more sense.

But then again, if you've to use a notebook cooler to make sure your notebook doesn't overheat, get a new notebook.
I think notebook coolers are a waste of money. A notebook should be able cool itself without strapping a giant fan to the back of it.

Yea make sense, i was only worried on much dust i find on the fans

well some notebook do produce heat at the bottom so it heats up the air before even taking it in, having a laptop cooler does cool it slightly better

as well as making sure situations like bed or pillow doesnt suffocate it
