windows 10 update

Hi guys !

I tried to install windows 10 ( i'm currently running win 8.1 ) and i got an error. i forgot how the error was called.

But i saw some people with the same error suggest that installing windows 10 with wiping everithing works without errors.

if i wipe everything and win 10 doesn't get installed will it recover to 8.1 ?

No, not unless you back up your computer's drives on a spare drive you have.

When you wipe it, its gone, it then becomes win10 or bust. So just copy your needed data and go for it.

i don't care if i lose google chrome or whatever else i have installed on c drive. so a backup is enogh ? another question is : is it going to whipe my hdd too ? probably not but that would be painful so i fell better to ask.

is you OS on the hdd or another drive? if its on the hdd then it wipes it, sadly.

my os is on ssd . if i make a backup on my hdd would i be able to restore it to my ssd ? ( maybe i'm asking stupid questions but i'm new to pc stuff )

well considering that when i checked don't delete it refered to everything else but windows right ? so i should be able to delete everything and if it fails it will restore to normal

Well you want to upgrade to win10 right? so yes, just back up the ssd to the hdd, unhook the hdd to avoid any worry later, wipe the ssd, install 10, and go
