whats a 840 evo useful for?(other than boot)

So i got a 840 evo for free, what should i do?

i'd use the drive as a storage drives for games i guess, or stuff you want to access often

only stuff you access often. The specific flash memory in the 840 evo degrades quickly so unless it's overwritten regularly (every 3 months) it will become very slow to access. There's a firmware "fix" that refreshes/rewrites old information, but that's only a workaround. Really the 840 is a very flawed drive.

games arent boot files, so your argument is invalid `-`

Those were written before 3 months had passed since receiving the product. There was a whole fiasco. It wasn't just the 840 Evo but there were a few drives at the time using the same flash chips. Needless to say, they aren't used anymore.

Its basically a faster hard drive, store stuff in it, have os on it, thats all
