Help out a brother

Demo Krax

Why hello there!

I have looking at building another computer, but I am not 100% sure that this build is good or not.

I have a few things I would prefer my new computer had which is the a 8 threaded CPU, and the Corsair air 240.

An i7 4790k might be the first CPU of your choice, but where I live there's a big different in price comparied to the xeon.

Here are the parts:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DemoKrax/saved/NBbqqs

Even though pcpartpickers said the case doesn't support the GPU lenght, this reddit uses have said otherwise:

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/41qopk/build_complete_it_fits_corsair_carbide_air_240/

I have some of you guys might have build in this case, or that you have some other facts about it.

The only reason I have picked a 850 watt power supply is because I am able to get it cheaper than a 550 or 650 watt.

PS. Sorry for the bad english

Can you stretch the budget to afford the PNY SSD7CS1311-240-RB 2.5" SSD 240GB at $59.99 as well as the Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB?

If NO, then you really should try and stretch it out to the Seagate ST1000DX001 3.5" Hybrid 1TB for only $69.88 as having the 64MB NAND flash will make the machine noticeably faster out of the box.

No other comments though, thumbs up here too

Both buying a ssd and hdd won't be possible, but the sshd from seagate is definitely possible and I will probably end up buying the sshd

What about the motherboard? seems a bit overpriced for such a build, you obviously need micro atx, but you could (depending on availability) be getting a much cheaper one that will do just fine, especially if the savings mean you can afford an SSD, furthermore, you can't o/c a xeon (if I am not mistaken), why the z97 chipset?

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-maximusviigene still z97, ROG @ $100 less

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-gryphonz97 similar just less pretty I guess

this is my recommendation, much cheaper mobo, but that way you can afford a 500gb SSD and perhaps go for a larger hard drive.

Again this is an issue of local availability, I realise because I lived in a country where nothing was available that sometimes things just plain do not exist in the local market or are irrationally expensive even compared to better counterparts, which are normal price, as well as how shipping prices may significantly limit your options for online shopping.

I thank you for the research, but unfortunately neither of those motherboards are avaliable here. The asus ROG is sold out and cost more than the current one I have selected.

The reason I picked the Gryphon with the armor on it, is so that would be able to paint it.

The mobo has an on-board raid controller, so you could grow your storage and not loose access speed too.
