First of all i know im a realy small part of the consumer demograph using smartphones and most of this is also going to be whining so pls excuse me in advance.

So why isnt there a good(by this i mean higher end) android smartphone out there with a smaller screen size, in particular 4" ? All the stuff that i see are pretty mid range even with my best intentions... Is it that much to ask? Every one of them i saw were even if equipped with pretty decent hardware, had a pretty crap screen. Or the only one that has a better resolution screen i saw is the xperia p wich is fairly outdated at this point.

Lets just get a analogy here:iphone 5 and above. 4" screen, hi res, fast responding( i know its more of optimization but lets pretend for a moment its the good hardware) its basically all i want from a smartphone and although im not a huge fan of ios(tho i didnt use it so much and i dont really have huge problems with it either) i'd put up with the OS even though i like android a lot better and at this point im used to it as well. Thing is why i didnt get one and wont ever is the price, i cant afford it.

My reasoning behind all this are that

1. I'm a tiny person with 165 cm or 5' 6" with eve shorter hands and fingers.

2. I carry my phone in my pocket, wich again, is small and i hate it when stuff in my pocket are uncomfortable.

3. I like nice clear shaep screens, i still have a htc desire S, and i like it that i can't see the pixels at all...so no 480*800 on 4" isnt cutting it, i saw it, dont like it, that 0.3 inch difference from the desire S makes it noticably more pixellated. As i said xperia p with 540*960 would be fairly enough, just its outdated now as well.

And my last point is that for really powerusing stuff to need a big display i already own a nexus7-2, and its still portable enough that i can carry it around with me most of the time.

So all-in-all i need a phone for those times i dont bring a bag with me but srill have a pretty potent, easy to use machine in my pocket which isnt uncomfortable.

So i'd love to see you guys prove me wrong, suggest phone or just put your opinion here on the topic, looking forward to what you guys are thinking.

I searched on GSMArena for a quad core phone with a 4" display that has over 250PPI and the only one that came out was the "Meizu MX 4-core"

I agree, the HTC One Mini is a perfect fit for my hand but the plastic bezel makes it feel very cheap, and while the main specs are enough for me, the 16GB storage and no higher options or MicroSDXC slot makes it not an option for me.  I am wondering when phone makers will wake up and realize that people's budget isn't actually related to the size of their hand.

I didnt even know about the acer one tbh honest. Ill do my research on it. Also i know im picky but the s4 is really ugly imho not to mention the cheap plasticky feel doesnt cut it. Ive been looking through stuff on a site named mobiledevicesize.com which gives you 1:1 scale if you put in your monitor size, and wven the one mini is quite largw compared to the iphone5 xperiap or htc 8s(just for size comparison).

Altho dat meizu... Good design tho i hope they sell a black version :D hardware looks good screen looks good...you kinda hit the sweet spot there. My only concern is the "noname" brand but hey you cant get everything and it might just turn out fine. I hope more big, well known manufacturers realize that theres still demand for small but powerful phones. All you guys who contributed here show as well.

well, the acer too is made of plastic but there's no way seeing it. the front is all glass, only the bottom part is plastic, and the back cover has some sort of rubery texture which makes it feel nice in hand

Have you taken a look at the Galaxy S4 mini and the HTC One Mini? I disagree that the HTC One mini feels cheap. You can't really say that, when the Samsung Galaxy S4 and mini don't have any metal on them anywhere.

It's a matter of opinion; to me, the HTC One Mini feels extremely plastic, the metal back might as well not be there, its the bezel that has the most impression on the feel of the device (for me anyway).  But the 16GB of storage maximum and no expansion is unacceptable for a premium device.  That's the one crucial thing that turned me away from it, if anything.
