Any PCI fan controllers?

KearneyMC
Go to solution Solved by pagani123,

you can just use a powered fan splitter and have that header plugged into the motherboard

Im wanting to get a fan controller for my PCI slot due to my mobo only having 1sys fan slot and my case has 4 fans, Is there any pci fan controllers that house 4 fans?

PWM is 4-pin DC is 3-pin. PWM allows for more control over the fan curve (custom fan speed) while DC only has certain fan speeds, like silent, turbo and full speed.

On another note, do you want to control the fan speeds manually via a knob or digitally, through some kind of software?

I am looking for what you want and I cannot find any Fan Controllers that go into the PCI slot on the Motherboard, instead they screw into the PCI expansion slot on the case and are powered via MOLEX.

NZXT S340 doesn't have external bays. So an external fan controller is a no-go.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

What about something like this? http://www.swiftech.com/8-WayPWMsplitter.aspx

That looks pretty cool, looks like you can screw it into a 2.5" bay.

That part is wrong. DC can adjust fan speed just as smoothly as PWM. The only real difference is that PWM can allow a given fan to run at lower RPMs where DC control would make the fan stall.

The NZXT Grid units are not PWM capable and are only DC voltage control, if you want PWM controller there is the Corsair Commander Mini but not much more unless you want to directly user the motherboard's which usually tends to be the best option.
