I am looking to build a gaming rig, Capable of playing latest games.
I started Two parts lists to give me price estimates (don't want to spend more than £750 but can expand in future weeks), can someone elaborate on which would be best, Pros and Cons. Would be helpful.

Build list 1 - 6600k 3.5Ghz

Build list 2 - 6500  3.2Ghz

Thanks, Jeff

pros over the other build:

the cpu will last you longer as it can be boosted `-`

comments on build:

Spoiler

1) try getting faster ram, higher mhz, but this is fine, it wont improve gaming performance much right now but when your cpu is underload, faster ram helps

2) get a better psu `-`

3) add an ssd later down the line

Spoiler

1) you're getting an overclocking board for a locked chip, you can get a cheaper board

2) get a better psu `-`

3) add an ssd later down the line

out of the two, i would pick build number 1, but with the improvements i mentioned

because i can keep my cpu and only upgrade the gpu for a longer time

Cheers for the information all, very much appreciated.

Thanks @Moonzy I am swayed towards the 6600k as it seems more future proof.

@TheRandomness I will look into a different PSU, Thanks

@Starelementpoke Different 390? as in Brand? "GPU" isn't my strong point.

Thanks Guys.
