Recently we got new dual band internet, but currently I'm using 2.4GHz as my wifi adapter can only support 2.4Ghz (Asus USB N-13), I'm with rogers by the way. Normal browsing is fine, it just takes a bit of time to connect to the network if you disconnect but that was only once. However when I start gaming, it's a whole new story. I keep on having lag spikes, it'll go from 30ms ping all the way to 200ms ping and around that area, then spike down. These spikes are frequent, occurring twice or three times per minute. It's unbearable, this happens on all games, CSGO, LoL, Minecraft, Dota, even skyping or using discord with my friends there's a lot of lag. My old ISP would only lag when I'm playing games and skyping but that was rare. I'm currently connected onto channel 4 and I have full bars, my download is around 60mbps and my upload is around 10mbps with a ping around 10ms. Any fixes or do I need an adapter upgrade.

Yeah, you don´t use channel 4. You use 1,6, or 11.

It's possible there's a lot of interference in your area on the 2.4 GHz band. Try a wired connection, to make sure it's not your router or computer.

EDIT: Try switching channels first though, like Starelementepoke suggested above

I've tried all three channels, it's even worse now. As well as my speeds dropped significantly, changing it back to 4 and will buy a 5Ghz adapter or a longer ethernet cable

That should get you the best speed
