Currently trying to pick out a rough idea of a computer i'm going to be building for a girlfriend in the summer, she has a 700 dollar budget, and it's looking like i'm going to have about 200-300 dollars to put forth on a GPU. any suggestions? (and don't tell me to wait for the new cards to come out, i know this is being built in the summer but that's something i'm already considering and i'm just asking for a good idea for the current cards.)

thank you all in advance (:

god that card is tiny. Also since that is a overall low budget make sure that you are still spending a good amount on ur cpu so that you dont bottle neck at all!

The R9 390 is a tad bit over 300 (possibly find a good deal under 300) and that'd be your best bet.

Check EVGA B stock for a 970 . If you cant find one below $300, buy an r9 380x instead.

Depends on what games your gf plays and at what resolution? If all she plays is LoL or Dota, a 960 or R9 380 might be enough. If she's playing 1080 max or 1440p, check out the gtx 970 and the R9 390.

she's going to be playing a lot of FPS games i'm assuming, and it would only be at 1080.

The GTX 970 or R9 390 are the ones that's going to pretty much maxed out those settings with very good settings. If you're not too keen to blow all your 300$, check out the R9 380X or the R9 380 4G. She might have to bump the settings between high and ultra but your wallet won't hurt that much.

a 960 4gb (as far as i seen can out preform) a 380x. Please do inform me if this is not correct!

Nope. A 960 doesnt even outperform a 380. I'm on my phone atm so I cant link, but check the 2nd and 3rd links in my sig and open the spoiler in the 2nd one. There are a ton of benchmarks in it.
