Used GPU with original invoice - RMA'able?

mhonor

Hi all,

If I were to buy a used GPU and obtain the original invoice from the seller would GPU manufacturers accept that if I am not the original purchaser?

I know MSI and EVGA don't require proof of purchase, was thinking about Sapphire or XFX. Has anybody done this?

It depends on the manufacturer.  XFX used to do a double lifetime warranty but they stopped that back in 2012 (I think).  Most warranties have terms in them that says they only honor warranties from the original purchaser.

Current Rig
AMD Ryzen 5900X - Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi 2 - 32 GB GSkill TridentZ RGB
GeForce RTX 3080 - WD Black SN850 1TB  - Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL

If you have receipt and the name on the RMA acc matches there will be no problem.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Email the manufacturer of the GPU and ask because each manufacturer has different  terms .:)

I am asking if the receipt is from a seller, ie. the name on the receipt would be different.

I mean the account you sign up on the manufacturers site with. This might pose an issue if you have to sign for the replacement after its been shipped but they are usually ok with any person signing.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

EVGA most certainly do require proof of purchase to RMA, or atleast I had to provide it when I RMA'd with them not so long ago.
