Hi Everyone, I was wondering if this should go to the Graphics card or Audio sections of the forums and eventually decided on the latter.

I'm wondering if any of you know what graphic cards already support the new DTS:X format (if any at all).

I know that I'll have a much better chance with a sound card, but I need the sound to transmit over HDMI with the movie.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Why do you want to send sound over HDMI?
I imagine that you use the TV speakers, but if you use HDMI to your receiver I can understand even though I don't think you will hear a difference between DTS and DTS:X

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

Well To be Honest I'm asking for a friend, He is pretty locked on to DTS:X though...

I'm not that much of an Audiophile and I do just fine with my on board 5.1.. Any leads on the Graphics card though?

Nope.

Most people use optical and not HDMI. Is he connecting the HDMI to straight to a TV or to a receiver?

There are currently no video cards or sound devices for pc that support an HDMI 2.0. However, there are some that support HDMI 2.0 through an adapter using DisplayPort which could theoretically push DTS:X. But another problem is software support. No software supports DTS:X yet. Certainly not games.

It's just too new for pc. There's less than a dozen optical disc players that support DTS:X.
