Socket 1150 Kit

Go to solution Solved by DrainDoc,

Yes this is what I was looking for thanks!

Only one thing can I use something like this http://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs-and-acc/res-pump-combo/ek-dcp/ek-bay-dcp-2-2-combo-reservoir-acetal.html instead of a normal pump?

And I have read that if you put the wrong combination toget you get oxidation or rust very quickly or can i just pick stuff I like? but I will read more about that

Thanks!

The pump/res. combo is perfectly fine. What you are talking about is dissimilar metals. Ferrous and non-Ferrous.

In modern products this is a non-issue. If you are using a premixed coolant? It is already formulated properly at

the manufacturer to just add straight to the loop with protective ingredients in the pre-mixture.

Although, if you decide to go with say a distilled water, then you have to add the extra protective additives yourself.

And it can get complicated for someone just starting out with a custom loop, like yourself.

So, (at least at this point) stick with the premixed formulas. Makes it much easier and safer.  :)

Hello everyone,

I never did water cooling before and i want to start with a custom loop.

Can anyone help me pick some good parts?

There isnt really a budget but I am looking for the best bang for buck here.

Linus recommanded a pump that was 100 euro and that is too much at the moment for my first loop.

I like a tube reservour like this but if you say something els is better I am fine with that.

And is a  Reservoir Pump Combolike there any good >? http://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs-and-acc/res-pump-combo/ek-dcp/ek-bay-dcp-2-2-combo-reservoir-acetal.html

Or is it just the best if i get a starter kit? >  http://www.ekwb.com/shop/kits-cases/kits.html

No budget. Just want the best bang for buck parts.

I want to start with just a CPU and I think a 240 radiator.

I have seen that topic before but I dont get any whiser.

Secondly, If you can be patient? I suggest saving up to get good quality parts

When it comes to custom water cooling, don't just settle for anything to get

you by.  Do lots and lots of planning, and save.

I dont need to save. I Just wanna know a loop. Maybe someone that uses Socket 1150 and is water cooling it.

1. Pump = Swiftech MCP655

2. Reservoir = Pictured above

3. Tubing = PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT Retail (pick a color)

4. Coolant = PrimoChill Pure Performance Coolant ~ Clear

5. CPU Block = Koolance CPU-380i(For Intel)......CPU-380A(for AMD)

6. GPU Block = Not sure if you are planning on this or not.

7. Radiator = Not sure what case you have for sizes

8. Fans for Radiator = Noctua

9. Fittings = Are usually a preference for you. Just make sure that fitting sizes match up

                   with tubing size you choose.

Is this what you are looking for? If so, this will give a start. If not, then, at least I tried.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone help me pick some good parts?

your best help will come from these two links:

Water Cooling 101 - A good place for newbies to start

Water Cooling FAQ - Some Basic Q&A

your best start is knowledge, you can get a lot of differing opinions and ideas from

an open-ended question like you posed. thus spending a lot of money for incompatibility,

incorrect data and a terrible experience.
