Hi Everybody

Dose anyone know of a good laptop or tablet (running windows) for a student so far I'm thinking of the the Microsoft surface pro 4 i5 8GB RAM and 256 SSD any other suggestions?

The Surface Pro is a good device, but very expensive. Have a look at some of the Acer or Asus transformers, like the XPS12 and the Aspire R 13.

Love the Surfaces. Would recommend. However, I'm a die-hard ThinkPad fan and would thus recommend you to look into any product from the ThinkPad line, like the X1 Carbon and the Yoga for example. You just can't beat the build-quality; they're built like tanks. Also, you should check out the XPS line from Dell, if you're against buying products from Lenovo.

I have looked at the yoga and carbon but both are more price than the Surface and it's hard to get the XPS in New Zealand.

But you can play frisbee with a thinkpad without it breaking, I am not joking. A friend of mine had the first gen x1 carbon he replaced it with the new one because well the screen was broken and he needed more power, so for fun we played frisbee with it for about 15min and it stilled worked fine after that.

Ah, well... If you're willing to give up a little portability, there are cheaper ThinkPads. Also, you can check out SagerNotebooks. Great laptops with good build-quality. No nonsense and cheap too.
