I wanted to ask when do I need to update my Bios and when I shouldnt do it?

Only update your bios if it's really really old, you should be fine without updating it for a while. And besides in like 2 years you are gonna get a LGA 1151 board probably anyway

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

You only need to update your BIOS if updating is going to specifically address an issue that you are having or add features that you need.

When you need to? When it contains compatibility you absolutely need or has fix for some bug or stability improvements for overclocking.

 

When you don't? All other times.

 

In all. Don't flash it unless you absolutely need to and are confident that if something goes wrong, you might have bricked mobo.
