Can I make a Hackintosh from a Mac install disk?

You're better off making an OS X install USB and trying to install it off of that. Where did you get that install disk?

It's also an older version of OS X so it might not have support for newer hardware, but that depends on how new your laptop is.

Also, just putting this out there - installing OS X on a laptop is not an easy task. If this is your first time Hackintoshing, then you'll probably have a lot of trouble. Installing it on a desktop with supported parts is difficult enough, and when you're constrained to prebuilt laptops, each with their own unique parts, it makes things exponentially more troublesome.

Gday folks!

I am doing a course at school that requires Apple computers. I am certainly not prepared to spend 1000+ for a macbook. I have a dell laptop with an i7 and 16GB RAM that has no use which I plan on using for this hackintosh. My main question is, can I make a bootable media using legit Apple install disks. The only problem is, there is two disks. Install 1 and 2. Is this possible or not.

Thanks

What version of OS X is on the install disk? I've never heard of an OS X install that used multiple disks. A disk used to be the preferred method for installing OS X on Hackintoshes, but that was back in the day of Snow Leopard. Nowadays, OS X is installed on most Hackintoshes using a bootable USB created from within another OS X installation.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.
