TF2 Not running on Virtual Machine

Hello everyone, I wanted to try and run TF2 on a VM using Virtual Box, I have a windows 10 VM set up on my host PC. The host pc is running windows 10.

I have TF2 installed, as soon as I try to run the game a black window pops up for a split second then goes away straight away. Then it acts as if I never launched the game. No background tasks about TF2 in Task manager.

I have verified integrity of game files and that hasn't helped.

I have deleted the CFG folder and everything in the custom folder, verified intergrity of game cache and it STILL doesn't work, this time not even showing a black box.

I have 4 cores and 4 GB RAM and 256 MB of video card RAM allocated to the Virtual Machine. Still nothing.

HERE IS A GIF

Please, any help is appreciated!

May I ask why are you attempting to run Team Fortress 2 in a virtual machine?

Why not run it directly on your computer?

Virtual Machines tend to have a hard time running games even though you have given it some good specs.

If your still trying to run it, make sure VT/d is enabled in your BIOS and that virtualbox is using it.

In order to play games you need a VM that provides you with full support of DirectX and OpenGL, or the appropriate version of the game, and sufficient memory. If memory serves correct, VMWare only support partially DirectX9 with up to 256MB of memory, assuming you configure it to use the max settings.

Because I want to level my stranges up by idling my other account and killing it over again. Yes, pathetic I know. But I want to try it see if it works.

Also, how do I enable VT/d?

I don't care about the graphics, I would run it in command line mode if I knew how to set it up properly. I want to set it to minimum settings but I have no clue how to.

First, verify if its already enabled by going into task manager, then into the performance tab and check if the  "Virtualization" part says enabled.

If it says "Disabled", head into your BIOS and head into advanced settings and look for an option called VT/d or "Virtulization Techonology" or something similar.

Also in virtualbox, tick "Enable 3D Acceleration" in the virtual machines settings, under display.

And bump up the video memory.
