Overall thoughts

Hi

 

sorry if everyone is sick of choosing what GPU, I would like to know what you think.

 

some background info:

I'm currently on a laptop with a 2670QM CPU and a GT540M GPU. I'm saving up to build a pc that would take over as a working station, gaming rig, music and videos.

 

I got a Acer XG270HU screeen for a good price. It has freesync so Nvidia won't work. Price is not really a problem ($0 - $600) except I don't want to spend to much for a little difference.

 

Also this build will come true in October/November so a lot can still change and Polaris is coming out as well.

At the moment what AMD GPU would you choose? From R9 390 up to Fury X

Polaris? Would it not be to much for a minor upgrade in performance?

 

The problem is I'm a perfectionist and I know no matter what you get there will always be something newer

390, but honestly wait for at least Polaris. I, personally, would hold of until Vega. But, Polaris will be a considerable upgrade for you. However, I suppose a 380X, 390, 390X would be a good buy.

I roll a D20. And Polaris is going to be a die shrink, should be quite a good upgrade if anything.

Is Vega the more High end one and Polaris the mid?

 

Are anyone going to upgrade to Polaris and Pascal?
