Gtx 960

asus z97k

i5 4690k

16 gb ddr3 kingston

windows 10

Recently for some reason i noticed that my cpu is basically at 100% when ever i have any game running, i ran malwarebytes and ccleaner to make sure there was no virus or anything. Its not over heating or anything and i'm not noticing any fps drop or anything just worried that i could be damaging my cpu. (Screen shot of cpu usage when i launch csgo and then when i close it )

Any advice on to lower my cpu usage?

Seems to be normal with a CPU intensive game.

Won't damage your CPU and if you are playing a game like BF4 that isn't CPU intensive your usage should not be at 100% at any point. However if you are playing a game like City Skylines or ARMA III, then expect usage to be that high.

But this has never happened before until recently

Use task manager to see what is causing this. Filter from most to least by clicking the "CPU" section so that the arrow points down. (Windows 8, 8.1, 10)
