Yes I'm pretty sure that is true. As well, there are a ton of coolers in the Hyper line. Go check out CM's website, they honestly have SO MANY coolers, although they have very ambiguous descriptions in terms of newer models. But yes I believe 212X is newer. If not, it's just a better version I'm pretty sure.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

I see it as more of an improved spinoff than a generation/successor. They both exist at the same time, and the 212E is generally still regarded as the better cooler for the money compared to the 212X. There's also other brands that make good stuff for the price range too, like Cryorig.

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

I think it's safest to just go with the 212 EVO. Tried and true, simple as that.

I would agree with you but for some odd reason here in the Philippines its very hard to find that model.

I found one store that sells the 212x for $35 and i found one store 3hrs travel to my location selling a 212 EVO Turbo Edition for around $45.
