Keep the RAM and get A 8gb stick for 30$.

Next get a core i5 4790k,

And a z97-a ASUS board to accompany it.

Get a cooler master Hyper 212 EVO.

also you might want to upgrade your power supply for SLI as we don't know what it is.

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

I'd recommend upgrading your CPU to an i5 (maybe 4690k), you'd have to get a new MOBO too, but you can use the same ram (its fine)

Get everything I told you to, except the cooler your current one is fine. If you can, get this this also includes an SSD because hard drives are slow. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/s7NWMp Just install windows on the SSD along with a few programs.

Looks like you can fit large radiators into that case so here

Also 8gbs of DDR4 is pretty cheap, so you might as well jump to skylake for the extra 5% performance, maybe even grab a 16gb kit so you never have to worry about it, that would leave about 50 pounds more for the motherboard or something

It's not that your CPU is horrible exactly, it's more that it isn't OC'd to like 4.5ghz, but yes in CPU intensive games like ARMA or Total War an AMD CPU's weak Per core performance is going to hold you back.

But ya, start there, maybe spend a bit more on the motherboard for a bit nicer one for overclocking

also if you want SLI you need an SLI motherboard because nvidia hates freedom I guess. But going for 2 GPUs is almost never worth it anyways.

Did you already list your power supply?
