3D printer into a laser engraver

So I have a delta 3d printer and I would think it would be cool to put some freakin lasers beams on it. Who power full and expanse of a lazer would i need? how much power and how would i control it?

so you want to make it like an AutoCad machine

I know what AutoCad is but a machine for it? can you not just use a inkjet printer for that?

I was thinking about using it to engrave on like metal like on the back of a phone or put a logo on something.

well i was meaning the machine you use with the cad files or whatever to cut stuff out of sheet metal/engrave

I was thinking about some metals and wood. I like the idea of putting a logo on the back of an iphone.
