wako7654

Hi LTT,

While waiting for pascal GPU im trying find anything that i can do for an upgrade of my system. My goal is to just probably make it perform better particularly for game recording using OBS(Mostly just play moba games).

below are my parts.

CPU:i7 4770k

Mem:16GB 1600mhz

GPU: R9 290

Storage: 240 Samsung EVO

               1 TB Seagate HDD

Any suggestions appreciated!

The first thing to bottleneck your gaming performance will be your GPU, but the 290 should still be fine for modern AAA titles.

What is your current cooling solution?  Case, CPU cooler, fan configuration?

Case is a CM Storm Stryker, AIO Liquid Cooler, Fans are all corsair/noctuas.

If you power supply is good, you are fine the way it is.

Soooooo...

You can add LEDs.  You can add fan control.  You can paint.  RAM is cheap, you can upgrade to 2400MHz RAM.

Don't spend money on any core components.

Ahh are the NZXT mounted one's good? Also would it be worthwhile to switch everything to liquid cooling?

It depends on how much you pay for the NZXT ones.

If you mean custom water cooling, no it is not worth it.  You gain little performance and would be spending a hundreds of dollars.  It is a niche thing people like to do.
