Not sure why "comments" are minimized for you when browsing - when I scroll through any topic, I see the comments people have left as well. The only thing, if there is more then 3 comments, then the system hides some, but otherwise I see all comments when browsing...

If you go into User Settings -> Account, make sure Display Mode is set to Topic View - I know Stream view can mess this up.

It is in Display Mode. It is not entirely hidden, it is like what you have mentioned, hides earlier comments when there are more than 3. I find this rather annoying especially when there are alot more comments and I end up having to maximize all the comments post by post to get info. It's not a major problem but it's just a thought. Thanks anyway.

data here

While I was replying to posts I kept wondering. If I replied through the "Comments" would I need to repost what I typed in the normal way? Replying to the post through the "Comments" will allow the author of the post to be notified that someone has replied, but the "Comments" are usually minimized when browsing through the posts hence concealling useful information inside. Anyone browsing through the posts in the thread would have missed the info just because it is hidden.

So my question is, should we repost what we replied in the "Comments" into normal posts? or is there a better way of notifying the author of the post we are trying to reply to that we are replying to him/her?

What's the difference between quoting somebody and commenting?

When should I comment as opposed to quoting them?

Somebody is probably more likely to read your post if you quote them, as it registers as a new post in that thread, and people generally read the latest replies.
