Skyrim followers won't go away

For a while I had Recorder, Serena, and a demon dog from dawnguard following me around. Now I don't want any followers but when I got to dismiss them they continue to follow me. Is there a command to dismiss all followers or something to make them stop following me?

do you have mods? because you can only have 1 follower at a time in vanilla skyrim

set playerfollwercount 0

set playeranimalcount 0

 

You can use these to to reset your follower count.

Or you could talk to them and set them to dismiss but hangout here. Just have to remember where you left them though.
