2x vs 4x 950 Pro

So I was looking at Samsung Magician and noticed my 256GB Samsung 950 pro was only running at 2x pcie.  That's what I get for trying to save $$ on a 2011-3 mainboard.  I found a few people out there with a similar issue, mostly from earlier in the year.  I ended up buying a PCIe 3.0 x4 Host Adaptor for M.2 NGFF PCIe SSDs.  It's solved the problem at a level I'm ok with.  I'm sure the numbers would be better on a board with a native 4x m.2 slot.

Its just a regular Sata 3 SSD. no sata express.

Have you tried a disk to disk transfer to validate this?  That SATA bus Shouldn't be able to generate these numbers.

You might have to go in the BIOS and set the PCIe lanes to Gen3.

Sorry for the time between posts.  It turns out that the board I purchased only uses 2 PCI-E lanes for the on board M.2 SSD connector.  I picked up a PCI-E x4 to M.2 adaptor, that seems to have fixed it.
