Hey,

Recently I have been experiencing complete freezes and black screens about once or twice a day. I've rolled back my overclocks (GPU is now default & 6600k at 4.3GHz) but I have no idea what's going on. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

As a first step I'd drop the CPU clock further just to rule that out. I know 4.3 GHz isn't that high, but at that level you do have to take some care. Are the problems when doing particular things, or even at idle on desktop too?

I've only experienced it while gaming but that's most of the time the PC is on so I wouldn't rule anything out.

It could be a hard drive problem.

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

Gaming is a stress condition... Has it been long since the clocks were reduced? Has the problems happened since then? If it is still there, the next step I'd take is to reset the CPU to stock.

Ok, Happened again. I was watching the $1000 HDMI cable video. My fans were running louder than usual so I tried launching MSI Afterburner and HW monitor but it crashed. No black screen just a freeze and bad audio.
