Neither, the 380 costs the same as both of those, and performs better... than both of those :D

But... if you absolutely MUST HAVE GREEN, like, you're life will forever be lifeless without the color green, then get the 960 4gb, more support for features.

Agreed with the above, though I would go for the R9 390 over the 960, in terms of price to performance

(however, the r9 390 pairs better with a higher end processor, while the 960 otherwise)

Well, it wouldn't necessarily be "better" but you would have more support for features, and dx12.

however... the 380 is still an all around better card... If you were to get that, then you could totally rub it in his face.

A 380 4GB would be your best option unless you're in a country where the AMD card costs significantly more than the nvidia card.

in some places a 380X isn't much more either, so go for that if possible.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Now that's just way freaking faster, anywhere from 10-15% more performance than the 380, which is already about 5% faster than the 960/770

gtx 780 support dx12 with latest bios pretty sure 770 does too.

The building a whole new PC part would have been useful at the start...

if you get a lower end GPU you could totally fit in a 4K IPS free-sync display

otherwise, tons of Room left in the budget

includes a 1080p IPS display

True, but AMDs been building up to DX12 for awhile. Their cards will still most likely outperform Nvidia´s.

Nvidia has been having a really hard time with DX12, their cards run better in DX11 in most cases, and like in the new Hitman game, using DX12 a 390 was beating a 980ti

seems to be a hardware level issue.
