Hi, I just bought a coolermaster v650 and I did not have a place to test or a pc so I thought my old office pc since it was like little broken but at least started. I plugged everything  turned power on and 10sec later my mobo started smoking a little. I removed all power and cables and later when checking I noticed on my psu back on the 2 white strips 1 black line and like 2 greenish lines. Do you know if my psu is ok or shorted atleast my mobo is >D

You probably shorted it out. Use a multi-meter to see if it is giving any electrical output. If it is, I would still recommending either getting it fixed, or buy a new one. And the motherboard is probably dead.

Ehhh that power supply doesn't seem okay. Are you sure you're not at too high voltage? If not, you sdhould ask for a refund.

Everyone who knows something about this tell me.

I also did the paper clip method and I let I run for 10 sec fan was normal, didn't slow down or stop. Turned off for 5-10sec and then I tried again and the same I left it for 10 sec no weird noises and fan wasn't slow and didn't slow down. Turned off smelled and no smoke smell or smoke. Smelled still like fresh. What do you think?

Ye but after the test I did will this psu be good for a long build?

Oh I wasn't talking about yours, I was talking about the corsair vs550. I frankly don't know with yours. That model of PSU is good, but after that result... I honestly couldn't say. If it fried everything other than itself then I don't trust it.

PSU-specific troubleshooting isn't my forte, since I have had phenomenal luck in my life with PSUs.

I mean I dont know if everything but mobo and maybe also since when I tried I had only mobo, processor of 2008 maybe (not sure just guessing but I got it 2010 so...) with no cooler and 5gb of ram and no hdd so 650w maybe was for a test overkill and thats why.

I really need your opinion. I posted the pictures if you want. I did the paper clip thing and worked perfectly. Would you think it would be ok for this> Build   Or to check something? Since I really dont want to change but I need this for upgradability options like pascal and i7. Tell me please >) Maybe check the electic output or idk whats it called and if yes tell me which cables or tutorial. Thanks >)

well it doesn't look like its burnt out, but you need to work out why the other board fried before attempting to use this PSU on a new build or you risk frying that as well

maybe not enough power? or it could be a bad motherboard or something else in your system fried it because it doesn't seem like the psu did it.

I'm always here to help
