Hi people.

I've just moved from a Ducky One, model  DKON1508S  to a Corsair Strafe RGB, both with Cherry MX Reds.

Since I've used the Ducky for less than a year, and I'm just typing with the brand new Strafe, I've just realised that maybe I've wasted my money

I decided to do two lists where I put the pros and cons of each kbd:

Ducky:

PROS

  1. No software needed
  2. Compact design
  3. Some cool effects
  4. Detachable usb cable

CONS

  1. No RGB lights
  2. ¿No wristrest?
  3. Gets dirty easily

Strafe:

PROS

  1. RGB Lights + per-key lighting
  2. Even more cool effects + exportable profiles

CONS

  1. Non-detachable usb cable + thickest cables (2, one for kbd itself and other for lights(It includes one extra usb on it)) ever seen.
  2. Made of plastic
  3. Wristrest
  4. Price

Considering this, and the fact that I spend 80€ and 130€ on the Ducky and Strafe keyboards, respectively, do you think I made good by changing my keyboard? Or it was just a waste of money? Feel free to criticise anything I said.

Genuinely don't see why you're asking for opinions, it's really whatever makes you happy, i like my red switches and backlight, don't care for RGB or fancy waving rainbows over my keys... backlight spoiled me so i'd hardly go for anything without one. (i got a, well a POS QPAD mk-70, couldn't recommend for the RRP but it's a good no bells and whistles backlit mech keyboard that i got essentially for free). I prefer no numpad compact ones too usually, but again I'm not too fussy.

It's really up to you if you like it better and if extra bells and whistles are worth it (rgb etc.) also wrist rest is surprisingly nice addition though does add bulk. could easily diy one too so...

If you already have a backlit mechanical keyboard, literally the only reason to get a Strafe RGB would be for the RGB backlight. So do you think that's worth 130€?

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H.
