a 750 ti 2gb

i think you are fine with that, or if there is any possibility that your planning to play all newest games this 2016. The upgrade i made before jumping to EVGA GTX 950 FTW was my old system was running on Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 + GT 9500 1024MB GDDR3 on a 4GB RAM. Lol CS:GO on Auto Settings @ 1080p was around 60-80FSP and on Dota 2 Reborn on Low Settings @ 1080p was around 60-70FPS.

if you got a i3 4170 with a 750Ti your in good shape i think even Fall out GTA V and Other Games can do you fine Especially on a 1366x768p that would be much less compare to a 1920x1080p.

Try to wait for the New Card i have no idea but if your going to upgrade try earning for a 970 that is kinda my top gpu i really cant see me buying 980ti.

Check this for CS GO on 1080p at High Settings

and check this Battlefield 4 on 1080p at Ultra Settings

in comparison you have a cpu that is 100mhz higher than his.

good day sirs!

I'm planning to buy a graphics card to pair with my i3 4170, so my choices are the 950 or 960.

AMD cards are out of the question because my psu has only 1 6 pin connector.

Im playing in a 1366x768 monitor btw. so does that mean that the 960 is too overkill for this reso? would i be better of with a 950?

I dont think i would be upgrading my monitor soon in the next 2-3 years.

thanks in advance sirs!

950 is fine, though the 960 will probably be able to crank all settings to max lol

depends if that extra dollars is worth the game settings :D

well their price differences are somewhere at P1,500 - P2,000 here in the philippines. its roughly about $30 - $40

you think its worth getting the 960?

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

It will depend on your Game of preference, if your going to play your game on a 1366x768 monitor a 950 will be the good. but if your going to upgrade to a 1080p gaming the 950 will be still good and do max setting on specific games.

i know the feeling here is my current build last December 2015 to January 2016

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Overclock @ 4.3GHz w/ 1.234V (2,900Php ~ Original Price 3,200Php)
MoBo: ASUS B85M-Gamer Bios Version @ 0603 (3400Php ~ Original Price 3,900Php)
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB(4GBx2) 1600MHz Downspeed @ 1333MHz (1,900Php ~ Original Price 2,300Php)
SSD: ADATA Premium SP550 120GB (1,700Php ~ Original Price 2,200Php)
GPU: EVGA GTX950 FTW 2GB (9,000Php ~ Original Price 10,500Php)
PSU: Corsair VS450 (1,500Php ~ Original Price 1,700Php)
CASE: NZXT S340 Black (3,500Php ~ Original Price 3,800Php)
Total: 23,900 + 3,700 Discount

To sum up search high and low for vendors who are really willing to give good discount in the Philippines Some do some dont, it took me almost 30-50 Days to find all my Component and build this  24,000Php or $500 USD PC.

Current Games i could play on 1080p with my 60hz monitor at Max Settings.

Dota 2 Reborn: 80-120FPS

CS:GO: 90-160FPS

Battlefield 4 (Trial Version 7 Days): 80-150FPS

Check your game requirements 1st good thing you have a i3-4170 almost a True Quad Core.

BTW if your still using a Old HDD try upgrading to SSD i got better result on this ADATA Premium SP550. "Lazada got it with 500Php Off" Even the MoBo but it was the Last stock i purchase.

when i purchase my EVGA GTX 950 FTW i compared it with the EVGA GTX 960 SSC price difference was 3,500 Cause they will need to order it and if they dont have in stock ill pay full price no discount.

Philippines suck on Price but try going around getting contacts on vendors, Like Online ill be voting Lazada wait for a Good Discount, PC Express find someone to talk to get them to like to, PC WORX you can really order anything they have and if your lucky they will sell it with much lower price on other vendor. if you have Enigma around your area or if your lucky Manila Gilmore are always having crazy deals. Just keep searching

I really cant help you about this much but it will be depending on your games.

950... next leg up is dishing out the 380 bucks for a 970 for VR in my humble opinion.

Upgrade that monitor LOL.

I'd probably just jump to a 380 or something of that sort and use VSR to get better image quality on your display. Then dish out for a better display later.

That is what I do with my 960 anyway with my 768P tv. Just run games at 1920 x 1080 or higher (where applicable) and enjoy the supersample AA if nothing else.

My eyes see the past…

My camera lens sees the present…

The GTX 960 is about 20% faster, give or take, than the 950.  In the US, it is about $30 difference between the two.

In my opinion, it is pretty easy to suggest the 960 given that price difference, it will buy you more years of playing before an upgrade is needed.

That being said, depends on where you're buying and what the price difference is.
