Hello everyone, today I spent a few minutes making a console replacement build, something better than the xbox one/ps4 that is around the same price. Slightly above but overall close. Here it is http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1EHXl This isnt an actual build I'm doing or doing for anyone else, just a general console killing machine to suggest to anybody considering a new console. Please feel free to edit/change as you see fit! I want us all to work together to make the ultimate console-killing machine!

P.S. --- Cannot go above $550, even by $1. For those using other currencies, cannot go above 110% the price of an Xbone in your area. If it is 600, then 660 is the max it can go. If it is 400, then 440. Etc.

P.P.S. --- I really have zero clue where to put this thread so I put it here.

P.P.P.S. Does not need to include monitor/peripherals/OS.

Here, a build with 8GB of RAM http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1EHOM

I'm liking microATX for this (console-killer being small) but I'm not sure that tower would fit a 7950. Here is an update of mine with microATX http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1EINm

Well this build would more than likely beat Xbone/PS4 already. This is just refining to make it the ultimate console killer.

a console is easy to kill, get a high end APU, nice RAM, and you propably would beat it already

Now I cant quite agree with that actually. Especially for the new ones coming out. Since consoles are fixed in terms of hardware, dev's can purpose optimize the game. That is what prevents them from being beaten by an APU.

that is optimalisation, AMD will also optimalise for games, but with the next driver, and the graphics will be much better than on xbone

And you even get some bundled games with the PC :).

I would agree that console optimisations would prevent an APU system from being better than a console, even if it technically had a performance advantage. But still, getting a 7950 in for just over $500 is pretty impressive imo.

Here's a build from Germany for 550€, 550€ because the Xbox One costs 500€ here in Europe.

Yours fits perfectly so what I'm about to say doesn't apply to your build, this is for future reference.

I said lets try to keep it below $550. Just for the sake of other countries, lets say lets keep it below 110% the Xbone's price in your area. If Xbone was 600, then 660. 400 then 440. Etc. Etc.

Comes in just below the £440 for the XBOne. You could get a 7970 in there and keep it under £480, which would still be within 10%.

Fx6300 non oc would definitely bottleneck 7970. Also if get 7970 one would have to get better psu. This on is somewhere on the line for 7950.
