Hey guys! My name is Nathan I'm new here on the forums. To start I am 15 and was born in Utah and currently reside in California. At the age of 12 or 13 I started getting into computers. I am a sophomore in high school, and want to major in Computer engineering, or computer science. I have built 3 PC all of which were mine. The first one I ever built consisted of an Intel Pentium 4 with a Radeon 5670, it wasn't much but it ran Sc2 just fine! At this point I am currently building my 4th PC and am using my old parts on my SFF (i5 3570k, gtx 560ti, etc). I am here to gain much more knowledge on computer components and such. I guess thats about it.

Thanks for reading guys! Sorry if I went off topic so soon. lol.

(Not sure if I posted in the wrong section or not, If I did please move it mods)

Haven't seen any introduction threads. Feels weird to maybe be the first......

Hey Nathan, I'm new to the forum also. I can relate to being into computers at the age of 12/13, I had some great times in high school putting computers into frost-less freezers, dunking old computers into distilled water, only to have the components break 10 minutes later...great fun.

I'm excited to update my computer knowledge and get back into it.This place looks like a great choice for that!

A little sage advice to aid you in your pursuit of knowledge...

NETWORKING...LEARN IT!

Knowing how a computer by itself functions means nothing if you don't know how to get it to communicate with others properly. I was a hardcore hardware guy growing up and never had the inclination or opportunity to dabble in networking. I found myself in a job where network troubleshooting was half the job. Fortunately, I had a patient & knowledgeable boss and awesome teachers at the college I was attending. To this day, I still show my boss up when it comes to desktop support however. Comes from sucking every ounce of performance from under-powered Windows boxes over the years.

Thanks man, my cousin is actually in Networking as well. I learn most of networking from him, and somethings he teaches me. He makes bank, about 45$ an hour for networking setup and such.
