Intel Editing CPU

So, I want to build an editing rig. Right now, I'm using Premiere Pro CC and using 1080p full HD footage, mainly at 24 and 30fps. I've chosen an R9 390 as my GPU (for those who say I should be using a 970, see Linus' video about video cards in Premiere Pro,) and 16GB of DDR4. My question is, should I get a 6600K or a 6700K? The videos I make are max. 10-15 min. Also, since I'm editing such short video, would a 6500 be enough?

All three CPUs you mentioned will work, just a matter of the performance you want.  So get whichever CPU you want.

I would go high as you're willing to pay if you're going to be editing

there is a difference i5-i7 in that area

Well a 6700k is going to be faster, but you could use a 6500, just depends if you want to spend all that money to render your videos faster.

? The video basically said it doesn't matter which you choose.

i would go with a 5820K, 6 core 12 threads, and cost the same as the 6700K.

Quad channel memory will also be a benefit wenn its comes to heavy rendering.

 

The 5820K is simply the best bang for buck work Horse you can get.
