Noob At Audio

I've never played with audio always used headphones, I wanna start using speakers though. Sooooo does with matter what config I use (2.0,2.1,3.1,4.0,4.1,or 5.1) does it really matter? Thanks for your help ha.

If you don't want surround sound, go with 2.0 or 2.1 Thats the short answer.

you need space for 5.1/7.1 or 5.2/7.2
