I have been researching building a PC in the last few months and i need to know about windows and wifi. I dont know if i need to buy a motherboard with windows or if i have  to spend 100$ on a windows disk. Also i dont know if i need a network card to get wifi in a PC or if wifi comes with most parts of a PC. Any help appreciated :)

if the motherboard is not completely terribad and costed $10 then it probably has wifi. you can buy Windows cheaper off of kinguin.net or reddit. save $10 for Win10 if you buy win7 then upgrade or just buy win10.

you CANT get a motherboard WITH windows, thats stored on a hard drive.

You don't have to spend $100, go on /r/microsoftsoftwareswap

You need to buy a network card because most motherboards dont come with a network card..

I think you should go and buy a prebuilt.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

To clarify your point, most motherboards have an Ethernet port and controller (things that would be found on a traditional network card) but few have built in wifi support. If you want wifi, you will need to add a wifi card or USB wifi dongle. For my rig, I use a TP link Archer AC1750, but you could get away with a $20 USB stick that plugs into the back of your computer.

As far as WiFi is concerned some motherboards have it built in. Mostly ITX boards. I havent seen any in the larger mATX or ATX category, so you might have to buy a card. Honestly you can get a decnet WiFi card for like $40.

As far as windows is concerned you will need to purchase it. Some buy a sites like redit for like $20. However an OEM license will be about $80, a Retail license will be like $119. These prices are US pricing BTW.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
