Im planning to put some light into my case and I'd love to make it myself.
My plan is the folowing:

  1. Buy an RGB led strip with a controller from ebay (like this)
  2. Use my EVGA GQ 750's 6 pin perif plug, plug in the included molex converter.
  3. Use a molex female connector and solder that to a 12V connector that fits into the led controller.
  4. Stick the led strip to the side panel.
  5. Plug this all together and power on the leds.
  6. Play a bit with the controller colors and enjoy the view.

Does it make sense?

Is it a good plan?
What should I change?
Is there anything I should be extremely carefull with?

Thanks for any help :))

That looks to be correct if you'd like i have a guide on this under Powering RGB LED's which goes over wiring a molex to DC barrel jack:

How is that possible that I didn't bump into your super-sexy and super-usefull guide when I was browsing the forum for tips? o.O

Btw what do you think of the LED strip i chose? Is that ok? Any better solution?

Those look good, they are the standard SMD5050 LED's and controllers for RGB LED's. Just note that white light from RGB LED's tend to be not as clean as it mixes the RGB lights to make that white light.

Are you planning to stick the whole 5m LED strip in your case? Remember when you cut the strip, the required voltage for all LED's together will decrease. This will not be the case if all LED's are wired in parallel in the strip.

No, im only planning to put in like 2x30cm what should I do then? Do i need a resistor? Won't the controller handle that?
