Are there any final improvements I can make performance and budget wise to this gaming pc build before I finalize all the parts?

This question is specifically for the motherboard and the PSU. This was my first pc build!

EDIT:

After all the feedback, I have come up with three builds and still don't know which one is best.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ultralathrop/saved/

1- Contains ASRock mobo and 8gb RAM

2- Contains Asus mobo and 8gb RAM

3- Contains Gigabyte mobo and 16 gb RAM

Go cheaper on the motherboard (By like 30 dollars) and get a better PSU

The Evga Supernova G2 550 watt unit is around the same price and is overall better. The motherboard also looks good

If you're just gaming at 1080p drop your GPU down to a 380X, a 390 is more of a 1440p card

Best budget board, has USB 3.1 and Type C

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gah110ms2hp

Solid PSU

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-210gq0650

Don't buy an OEM windows key if you're going to buy a windows key

you can find less expensive 390s as well

and you probably don't need a dvd drive

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I've made some changes, how's it looking now? Found a cheaper mobo and a better psu.

The PSU above in my comment is nearly the same for $30 less, it's simply semi-modular vs full

Thank you for this. I changed the PSU. My last question would be about my CPU Cooler, do you think it is necessary to buy one because the intel 6500 already comes with a stock one.

A motherboard with usb3.1 type c is nice. It is worth it, sometimes the smallest improvements can have the biggest impact.

It'll just run a bit quieter, probably worth the 30 bucks if you want near silence

$20,-- more expensive.

m-atx vs atx

2 vs 4 ramslots

h110 vs h170

4x vs 6x sata

1 vs 2 casefanheaders

alc887 vs alc892

It is more about what you need or want. You could also get the other m-atx one and then get 16GB ram instead of 8GB for about the same price as the asrock mobo... choices... hard...xD

I would suggest two small changes. A better memory kit and a slightly larger psu.

  • Think about grabbing a memory kit with heat spreaders. Not that much more and it will look a lot better th an those greed PCBs.
  • Maybe look at a 380x? If you are currently at 1080p it will be more than fine and if you want to go 1440p then the option is there. If you are already running 1440p 60htz or higher then keep the 390
  • That power supply is fine. Maybe look at a lightly higher wattage one for possible future crossfire or to let the fan run quieter (I'm not sure if this PSU as a fanless mode). If you don't care about silence and you don't want to go dual 390 in the future then disregard this.
  • Take a look at the Shadow Rock 2 and the Pure Rock over the 212evo.
  • Look at kinguin for a cheap Windows key if you want
  • Ditch the optical drive. If you really need one get an external one.

I'm here to help people and have fun. Feel free to chat!

usb type c & 16gb ram. Your future is garanteed. Most devices will eventually get type c connectors, it is a wise choice. In your list windows is quite expensive, be sure to check if you can get that cheaper somewhere else.

Thoughts on this mobo?

- Look at my post from 10h ago for a comparison between both motherboards. The gigabyte mobo is fine in that configuration and you get 8GB more ram for the same price.

- You can also get a smaller case if you want, as the gigabyte mobo is a m-atx. The $68,-- Cooler Master Silencio 352 is a high quality case with sound insulation and an sd card reader (luxury). I personally like the looks of the new $80,-- corsair carbide air 240 aswell (with or without window). Bang4buck the 352 silencio is a no brainer, i can not think of a case that even comes close the bang4buck ratio this case offers.

http://ic.tweakimg.net/ext/i/2000776643.jpeg1405930039.jpeg

If you pick the silencio, be sure that your cooler is 150mm or less.
