Is my gpu being used?

Hi there,

I've got a GTX 960 4GB and when I'm editing video on Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC I always have enabled the GPU accelerated option enabled but it makes no diffrence at all, I get the same framerate when enabled and disabled. The same happens when rendering in Adobe Media Encoder, it takes the same time to render with or without CUDA acceleraton, also, according to MSI Afterbuner GPU load is 1-5 %

All tests where taken using a very graphicly complex and very raytracing needed.

I also added my GPU to the compatibe graphics card list.

 

So...my question is. Is it actually using my GPU? and if not how can I solve it?

NVIDIA cards do help with rendering the final output, but they only accelerate the rendering of fade-in/fade-out scenes.

Other than that, it's all CPU-based work.

So they label the products gpu accelerated and then only a small part of the program actually benefits from a good gpu?

That's the sad truth, when I originally found out I was pretty surprised.

You'd think it would be easy to utilise any GPU, but unless you're adding a bunch of graphical effects to the video, the GPU is just sitting around.
