Mobo problems

So I just bought a new motherboard plugged everything in but it won't post but it spins fans. What's wrong with it?

I'm assuming you have a speaker for the BIOS beep codes?

Not even a post beep? My only guess would then be to double check the CPU and ensure everything is lined up, and the CPU power cable

Wouldn't it be able to post even without it?

I've never had a MoBo post without a CPU. Then again, I only experimented with that once many years ago.

Okay I can kinda see that but the BIOS is inside the mobo and that is all you need to access so I thought that all you needed was the mobo

It makes sense by your logic too. But as I said, I experimented years ago, and things may be different from then. I'd put in a CPU, and see if that fixes it. We can both learn from this one

Well I'm not exactly the one who has to do it, I am trying to help my friend long distance I built his pc and he wanted to upgrade things went bad fast. Basically he has 2 CPUs, 2 mobos, 2 power supplies, and 2 graphics cards. One bad PSU and one bad mobo. Excpet the new one won't post but he said he will deal with it tomorrow. It's 12 here
